Country Ribs Slow Braised in Wine--With Noodles image

Steps:

  • Remove any excess fat from the ribs and season the ribs with salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.
  • Heat the oil in a large nonstick frypan to hot, add the ribs and brown well on all sides; about 5 to 8 minutes. Remove ribs to a plate and keep warm. Reduce heat and add wine, deglaze pan, releasing the brown bits.
  • Mix together in a bowl, the rest of the ingredients for the sauce, except the spinach, reserve for later. Add to the wine in the frypan. Stir together and bring to slow simmer then add the browned ribs. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Remove from heat and stir in the spinach.
  • In the meantime, cook the noodles according to the package instructions; drain well.
  • Pour ribs and sauce into a large pasta bowl; add the drained noodles, carefully stir to combine.

1 lb country-style pork ribs (about 4 large)

1 teaspoon olive oil
1 cup dry white wine
2 tablespoons chili-garlic sauce (sambal olek, more if you wish)
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1 (14 ounce) can creamed corn
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons mustard, grainy type
2 cups packed fresh spinach
8 ounces wide egg noodles (we like garlic flavoured)

SLOW SMOKED COUNTRY STYLE BBQ RIBS

Take a basic hamburger bun and cover each side with a slice of your favorite cheese, place some pulled rib meat in between and pour on some more BBQ sauce. Cook in a buttered pan or griddle or use a press to get the best results. This will be one of the best grilled sandwiches you will ever eat!

Slow Smoked Country Style BBQ Ribs image

Steps:

  • Prepare a smoker or set up a grill for indirect heat to 200 to 225 degrees F. I use oak wood for my smoke, but pecan or cherry wood also work well.
  • Rinse and then pat dry the ribs. Place in a rectangular pan and coat with a liberal amount of rub on all sides, shaking off any excess. Smoke or grill the ribs for 3 to 4 hours. If the grill or smoker becomes too hot, open the lid and spray the ribs with apple juice, otherwise do not open the lid. If you're looking, you're not cooking.
  • Remove the ribs, wrap in heavy-duty foil and cover tightly. Return to the smoker or grill for another 2 to 3 hours. Pour the BBQ sauce into a squirt bottle. Uncover the ribs and generously apply BBQ sauce. Reduce the temperature to 150 to 175 degrees F. Once the sauce has "melded" to the ribs, remove and let rest. That's it, good luck.

  • In a 3-qt. slow cooker, mix ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, seasoned salt and, if desired, liquid smoke. Add ribs; turn to coat. Cook, covered, on low 5-6 hours or until meat is tender., Remove pork to a serving plate. Skim fat from cooking liquid. If desired, transfer to a small saucepan to thicken; bring to a boil and cook 12-15 minutes or until sauce is reduced to 1-1/2 cups. Serve with ribs.   • Place spareribs in a large stock pot with barbeque sauce, onion, salt, and pepper. Pour in enough water to cover. Bring to a low boil, and cook approximately 40 minutes.
  • Preheat grill for high heat.

  • Pat the ribs dry, then season with the Old Bay Seasoning, and then salt and pepper to taste. Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in a Dutch oven. Brown the ribs, cooking in batches, until all sides are browned. Remove all of the ribs to a plate.

  • Place the ribs back into the pan. Add the chicken stock (it should reach about halfway up the sides of the ribs.) Bring to a simmer, then cover the pan and transfer to the oven. Cook until the ribs are tender, about 2 hours. When about 1/2 hour remains, uncover the pan to allow the liquid to reduce a bit and for the pork to brown.
