- In a 5-qt. bowl, mix water and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Stir in juice concentrates and vodka until blended. Transfer to freezer containers, allowing headspace for expansion; freeze overnight., To serve, place 2/3 cup slush in each glass. Add 1/3 cup soda.

Steps:
- 1. In a large container, dissolve the Jello in boiling water. Add the remaining ingredients, EXCEPT the soda; stir until well blended. Cover the container tightly, place in the freezer for at least 7 hours (overnight works best though) or until its completely "slushy."*
- 2. When ready to serve, spoon the slush into a glass and add 50/50 or Squirt soda.
- 3. * If you make non-alcoholic version, stir every few hours so it doesn't completely freeze solid (alcoholic version won't freeze solid with the vodka in it).

- Seal and place in the freezer until frozen solid.
- Take out of freezer and let thaw.
- Drink when it has thawed and is slushy.
- Or put in blender and blend until slushy.
- Garnish with fresh cranberries, zest of a lime or an orange slice.

Bring in the New Year with this refreshing, fruity slush. But be careful--they can sneak up on you! It's made ahead and frozen so serving it to your guests is easy. We often keep a pail of this in our travel trailer freezer for a quick drink on those hot summer days when we're camping. (Cooking time is freezing time and number of servings depends on the size glasses you use).

- Start by combining all the ingredients in the blender. The cranberry juice, vodka, orange juice and lime juice.
- Put on the lid of the blender and mix for about 30 seconds until all the liquids are mixed thoroughly.
- Add the ice cubes to the blender and then blend periodically using the PULSE function on your blender. This will ensure that we get that perfect slushy texture with half liquid and half ice.
- Stop when you get your desired texture and consistency and serve immediately. Optionally, top up with Lemon Lime Soda - for me it’s one of my favorite combinations!
