Give Peas A Chance Salad Recipes
BACON RANCH PEA SALAD
This easy salad came about in an attempt to satisfy my son who loves peas and my husband who doesn't. It has become a huge hit. You may want to double the recipe if you want any leftovers!

Steps:
- Place bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat, and cook until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
- Bring the water to a boil in a pot. Boil the peas 1 minute, until just tender, and drain. Cool peas under cold running water.
- In a bowl, toss together bacon, peas, onion, Ranch dressing, and Cheddar cheese. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until chilled before serving.

- If using frozen peas, place in a colander in the sink to thaw. Run under cool water to speed up this process. If using fresh peas, simply rinse them to ensure they are clean.
- If your bacon isn't cooked yet, place 8 slices of bacon on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 350ºF oven for ten minutes. Remove from the oven, and carefully turn over each slice of bacon. Return to the oven to cook for 4 more minutes. Remove the bacon to a paper towel lined plate to cool. When cool enough to handle, crumble or chop the bacon into small bits.
