Like Hawaiian-style pizza, only with pasta.

Hawaiian Style Pasta image

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, toss cooked pasta with tomato pasta sauce, pineapple and salami. Cook, stirring occasionally, until sauce begins to bubble, about 10 minutes.

1 cup tomato pasta sauce
2 slices fresh pineapple, cut into pieces
2 cups chopped salami

My kids love Hawaiian Pizza and they love pasta. My eight year old asked for the flavors of Hawaiian pizza in a pasta dish! All three of the kids and the hubby loved this recipe -- hope your family likes it too!

Hawaiian Pizza Pasta image

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to boil and cook pasta 6-8 minutes until al dente (It will cook more in the sauce).
  • Meanwhile, add 1 T. of olive oil in pan, saute onion and garlic until softened.
  • Add tomato sauce, spices and juice from pineapple, bring to a boil and reduce heat.
  • When pasta is almost done, add pineapple chunks and ham to sauce mixture, again bring the sauce to a boil and then reduce heat.
  • Drain pasta and add to sauce mixture. Stir to combine. Sprinkle cheese on top, gently stir to combine and let sit 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted.

1 lb medium pasta shells or 1 lb bow tie pasta

1 garlic clove, peeled and minced
1 teaspoon oregano or 1 teaspoon italian seasoning

20 ounces pineapple chunks in juice
12 ounces cubed ham
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • Add the pasta, the vegetable stock and the water to a large pot or pan over medium high heat. When the mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium and cook the pasta until almost all the liquid has been absorbed, stirring regularly to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • Turn the heat to low. Add the pasta sauce, the ham, and the mozzarella cheese, reserving 1/2 cup of the cheese for the end.
  • Stir in the bell pepper strips and pineapple chunks and continue to cook on low just until the peppers and pineapple chunks begin to soften.

  • Cook Penne noodles in a large pot, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside when done.
  • While noodles are cooking, cook bacon in a large skillet. When done place on a paper towel to drain. Save the bacon drippings in the skillet. Coarsely chop the bacon when cooled down enough to touch. Set aside.
  • In the same skillet as the bacon grease, place your diced ham and pineapples over medium-high heat. Cook until the ham is slightly browned and the pineapple is soft. Save 1 tablespoon of the drippings.
  • In a large pot, add 1 jar of spaghetti sauce, and heat over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of drippings and stir to combine.
