Steps:

  • Melt 1 Tbsp. butter in Dutch oven or large deep skillet on medium heat. Add meat; cook 5 min. or until evenly browned on all sides, stirring frequently. Add onions, carrots and celery; cook and stir 2 min. Add gravy mix and bouillon granules; mix well. Stir in water and wine. Bring to boil; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 1-1/2 hours or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Microwave potatoes as directed on package; place in large bowl. Add remaining butter and milk; mash until of desired consistency.
  • Heat broiler. Spoon meat mixture into 1-1/2 qt. casserole sprayed with cooking spray; top with potatoes and cheese. Broil, 6 inches from heat, 2 to 4 min. or until cheese is melted.

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add the gravy, vegetables and onion. Spoon half into a greased 2-qt. baking dish or four oven-safe 2-cup dishes. Top with mashed potatoes. Drizzle with butter and sprinkle with paprika. , Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until heated through. Place the remaining beef mixture in a freezer container and freeze for up to 3 months. , To prepare frozen casserole: Thaw in the refrigerator; transfer to a greased 2-qt. baking dish. Top with the potatoes, butter and paprika; bake as directed.

Turkey Shepherd's Pie image

Steps:

  • Boil potatoes until tender, 15 to 20 minutes. While potatoes are cooking, gather other ingredients.
  • Mash potatoes with butter and milk. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; stir in onion. Saute onion until it has softened and turned translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in ground turkey, carrot, mushrooms, parsley, thyme, garlic, and chicken bouillon. Cook and stir until meat is broken up and cooked through. Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute more.
  • Transfer meat mixture to a deep dish pie pan or casserole dish. Spread mashed potatoes over meat, and swirl with a fork.
  • Bake in preheated oven until tops of mashed potatoes are lightly browned, about 30 minutes.

Light Homestyle Shepherd's Pie image

Steps:

  • Coat a 10-inch oven-proof skillet with cooking spray. (If skillet is not oven-proof, wrap handle in double thickness of aluminum foil). Place over medium-high heat; add garlic. Crumble extra lean ground turkey breast into skillet. Cook the turkey as specified on the package. Always cook to well-done, 165ºF as measured by a meat thermometer. Add to the crumbled turkey basil, thyme leaves, salt, if desired, and black pepper. Add gravy, corn, and peas; simmer uncovered 5 minutes or until vegetables are defrosted and mixture is very hot. Spoon mashed potatoes around edges of mixture leaving a 3" opening in center.
  • Transfer skillet to broiler and broil about 4"-5" from heat source for 2 to 3 minutes or until mixture is bubbly.
  • Sprinkle with cheddar cheese; return to broiler and broil 1 minute or until cheese is melted.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375ºF.
  • Add potatoes to large saucepan of boiling water; cook 20 to 25 min. or until tender.
  • Meanwhile, whisk Neufchatel, milk and seasoning until blended; set aside. Brown meat with onions in large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Add flour; cook and stir 1 min. Add frozen vegetables and broth; mix well. Stir in 1/4 cup Neufchatel mixture; cook and stir 2 to 3 min. or until slightly thickened. Pour into 8-inch square baking dish sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Drain potatoes, reserving 1/4 cup cooking water. Return potatoes and reserved water to pan; mash until potatoes are smooth. Stir in remaining Neufchatel mixture; spread over meat mixture.
  • Bake 25 to 30 min. or until heated through.
