AUNT MARGIE'S SWEET POTATO PONE
Instead of the 'traditional' sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving, this is what our Southern family has had on the table for at least 3 generations. Great Aunt Margie (pronounced MAH-gee) was born in 1902.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- Mix sugar, butter, egg, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg together in a bowl. Stir in sweet potatoes, orange zest, and orange juice until evenly incorporated. Pour mixture into a shallow 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until cooked through and bubbling, 1 hour. Serve hot or cold.

Steps:
- Mix together all but marshmallows.
- Bake at 350°, 30-45 min.
- Put marshmallows on top and return to oven until marshmallows are melted and browned.
- I usually make this the nite ahead, and add marshmallows the following day.
- They can be reheated and additional marshmallows added.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice sweet potatoes in half lengthwise; slice each half into 3 wedges. Place in a medium bowl, and toss with oil, cumin, paprika, ginger, and cayenne pepper. Season with salt and white pepper.
- Arrange sweet potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Transfer to oven; roast until potatoes are crisp and golden on the bottom, about 15 minutes. Turn, and continue roasting until golden all over, about 15 minutes more.
- Remove from oven; season with salt and pepper. Serve with lime wedges.
