Everyone licks the pot clean every time I make this. It's great for cold winter mornings. Season with salt and pepper to your individual tastes.

- Whisk the milk, flour, salt, and pepper together in a bowl until smooth.
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Gradually stir in the milk mixture until thick. Add the beef; cook and stir until heated through, about 5 minutes. Pour over toast to serve.

MOMS OLD FASHIONED CHIPPED BEEF DIP
My mom would make this when company was coming over, and it was always a big hit. She would serve it w/ crackers and crusty french bread.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350. Spray a 1-1/2 quart casserole dish w/ cooking spray. In saucepan, over low heat, combine cream cheese and milk. Stir until smooth.
- Add green bell pepper, onion, chipped beef and sour cream. Mix well. Pour into casserole dish. Bake 20 mins, or until heated through.

Steps:
- Slice the top of the bread off.
- Using a knife cut out the inside (being careful not to cut all the way through the bread). Cut the hollowed out bread and the cut off top into bite sized squares.
- Put in a sealed container.
- Mix the rest of the ingredients together and put in the bread "bowl" on a platter.
- Arrange the bread squares around the bowl.
- I always buy extra bread for dipping.
- Don't forget to eat the bowl too.
- All of this can be made days ahead and the dip actually is BETTER after several days.

My mom used to make this recipe. It can also be made with 3/4 pound browned, drained hamburger. We called it SOS: Same Ole Stuff. Great comfort food! Either recipe is easy to make and tastes great with a cold beer. Serve over toast.
