Easy Ham and Noodles image

Steps:

  • In 3-quart saucepan, heat broth and water to boiling. Add noodles; return to boiling. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 8 to 10 minutes or until noodles are tender and most of liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally (do not drain).
  • Meanwhile, cook vegetables as directed on box.
  • Gently stir vegetables in cheese sauce and ham into noodle mixture. Cook over medium-low heat 3 to 4 minutes or until hot, stirring occasionally.

Schinkenfleckerl (Ham and Noodle Casserole) image

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  • 2. In a large saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour until smooth. Take off heat and cool slightly.
  • 3. In a medium bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  • 4. Add the egg yolks to the cooled butter and flour mixture. Stir in sour cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Combine the cooked and drained noodles and sour cream mixture. Stir in ham. Gently fold in the beaten egg whites.
  • 5. Put into prepared baking dish and cover with foil. Bake, covered, for 20 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle cheese over top and cook an additional 25 minutes or until cheese starts to brown.

2 c dry wide egg noodles, cooked and drained
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp all purpose flour
2 eggs, separated
1 1/2 c sour cream
1/2 lb cooked ham, diced
salt and pepper, to taste
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

  • Cook noodles according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon butter; stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat; stir in cheese until melted., Drain noodles. Add the noodles, ham and peas to cheese sauce. Pour into a 3-cup baking dish coated with cooking spray. Melt remaining butter; toss with bread crumbs and parsley.
