Steps:

  • Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. Lay crescent rolls flat in the bottom of the pan. Combine cooked sausage, cheese, eggs, milk, salt and pepper; pour over crescent rolls.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, until bubbly and rolls are baked.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook sausage 6 to 8 minutes over medium heat or until no longer pink, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in pesto. Set aside to cool.
  • Unroll crescent dough into 13x9-inch glass baking dish. Press dough in bottom and 1/2 inch up sides. Press perforations to seal. Spoon sausage into dough-lined dish. Sprinkle tomatoes and feta cheese over sausage. Top with mozzarella cheese.
  • In medium bowl, beat eggs and milk with wire whisk until well blended. Pour egg mixture evenly over ingredients in dish.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until dough is golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh basil.

1 (12 ounce) package bulk reduced-fat pork sausage
1/3 cup refrigerated basil pesto
1 (8 ounce) can Pillsbury Refrigerated Crescent Dinner Rolls
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can muir glen organic diced tomatoes, drained
1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese (1 1/2 oz)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 oz)

2 tablespoons milk

Steps:

  • Cut the bread into 1-inch cubes and spread in the bottom of a greased 9- by 13- by 2- inch casserole dish.
  • In a medium skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat until fully cooked and no longer pink. Remove the sausage with a slotted spoon to drain the fat. Spread the cooked sausage over the bread and top with the cheese. Then stir together the, half-and-half, dry mustard, salt and eggs. Pour this mixture over the cheese. Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  • The next day, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Bake the covered casserole until set and slightly golden, about 50 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow the casserole to set for 15 minutes before serving.

Butter, for greasing
1/2 loaf of sliced white loaf bread
1 pound fresh bulk pork sausage with sage
10 ounces sharp Cheddar, grated
2 cups half-and-half
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
5 large eggs, lightly beaten

This is a great recipe for a holiday breakfast or a brunch. Make sure you drain the sausage well so the casserole isn't greasy! If you'd like you can add some chopped green onions, mushrooms or bell peppers to this, just cook them first so they don't make the casserole too liquidy.

Steps:

  • Grease an 8x11 inch baking pan lightly. Line the prepared pan with the crescent roll dough.
  • Brush the dough with the mustard. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and layer with 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese and sausage.
  • Combine the eggs and milk in a mixing bowl. Beat until frothy. Pour evenly over the sausage.
  • Sprinkle with 1/3 cup cheddar cheese and 1/3 mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 35 or 40 minutes or until set.

1 tablespoon Grey Poupon mustard
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
