Caramel Apple Chex Mix Recipes

Steps:

• Measure out all the cereal in a large microwaveable bowl and set aside. In medium saucepan combine butter, brown sugar, applesauce, corn syrup and salt. Melt over medium heat, then bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Allow to boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal and mix until coated. Microwave for 5 minutes, stirring after each minute. Add toffee bits and stir to distribute. Spread out on a parchment lined baking sheet to cool. Meanwhile, melt white chocolate in the microwave in 20 second increments, stirring after each, until able to drizzle. Drizzle white chocolate over Chex mix. Place in the fridge for a few minutes to allow chocolate to set. Break apart and serve.

In a large saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter and corn syrup; bring to a rolling boil over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. • In brown bag, shake together Chex mix and nuts. Pour hot mixture over cereal and nuts. Microwave in brown bag for 1 and 1/2 minutes on high. Shake mixture and microwave 1 minute more. Pour out and let cool. Once cool, add M&M's.

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350.
• Place cereal in a large, mixing bowl.
• Spray with a cookie sheet nonstick baking spray.
• In a small ziplock baggie combine cinnamon and sugar and set aside.
• In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, heat brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup until the mixture comes to a boil. Let boil for one minute, stirring constantly, then remove from heat.
• Pour over cereal and stir until cereal is coated.
• Then mix in 3/4 cup of cinnamon sugar and mix well.
• Spread cereal on prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon/sugar mixture on top. Bake for about 5 minutes, then flip with a spatula and bake for 3 more minutes, until cereal turns golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool completely, then break up and store in an airtight container.
