COUNTY FAIR STYLE KOOL-AID® DROP DOUGHNUTS
I tried 'Chicken Charlie's Deep Fried Kool-Aid®' at the San Diego County Fair. They were very good so I started to search on a way to recreate them. I searched for drop doughnut recipes and took one of those and adapted it. This is a very close version of the one I had at the fair in looks and taste. The fair's version was cherry-flavored, but you could use any flavor you like.

DEEP FRIED KOOL-AID
Some of you might have heard about Deep Fried Kool-Aid being sold at the state fair that's so deliz that the news stations are making it while on live TV. I saw this recipe posted while I was watching the news so thought I'd try it and post it. It's really good. I didn't tell my kids what they were eating until they had already ate a few of them because they are young adults (19 to 22 years old and still live at home)and I knew the name would keep them from trying one. LOL! Kids of all ages will love this.

Steps:
- Beat eggs and sugar together. Slowly add milk while beating slowly. Add flour, 1/4 cup of dry kool-aid powder, salt and baking powder then beat till nice and creamy. The batter should be bright pink. Add more Kool-Aid powder as desired. Cook in hot vegetable oil for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove when batter is golden brown and crispy. Roll in mixture of the remaining 1/4 cup Kool-Aid powder and the 1/2 cup powdered sugar. Allow to cool a bit before eating so it doesn't burn your mouth. Taste best with a glass of cold Kool-Aid to drink.
DEEP FRIED KOOL AID BALLS
Correction to the recipe! it is 4 tablespoons of Kool Aid Mix with sugar. I use SPLENDA so I make my own "canisters" 1 pack KOOL AID to one cup SPLENDA. This would be a great idea for a kitchen party with friends, cutting the recipe in half and make a lot of different flavors.
