INCREDIBLE HONEY GROUND MUSTARD SAUCE FOR CHICKEN

This recipe was given to me by my daughter, guaranteed to be delicious. And was it ever! It is a wonderful and easy way to transform ho-hum baked chicken breasts (...or pork, salmon or vegetables) into something really incredible. My husband was so impressed with the sauce that he spooned it over his vegetables and ate the rest...

Incredible Honey Ground Mustard Sauce For Chicken image

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°. Prepare chicken breasts as you normally would to bake, seasoning with salt and pepper. Bake for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
  • 2. About 20-25 minutes before the chicken breasts are done, combine broth, brown sugar, honey mustard and ground ginger, if using, in a small sauce pan.
  • 3. Heat over medium heat for about 5-8 minutes, allowing it to reduce a bit. Let cool slightly. Remove chicken from oven, plate and spoon honey mustard sauce over chicken. Serve extra sauce in individual ramekins to be spooned over chicken, vegetables or rice.

4 bone-in chicken breasts
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup koop's stone ground mustard
1/2 tsp. ginger powder, optional. (i made without.)

Ginger Ale - Honey Mustard Glazed Ham image

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
  • 2. I slow cooked an 8 1/2 lb ham in a shallow roasting pan for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I added just a cup of ginger ale to the shallow pan and tented the ham with foil.
  • 3. Prepare glaze: 30 minutes before ham is done cooking, make your glaze in a separate bowl, 3/4 cup of prepared mustard (French's, dijon... whatever your taste), 1/2 cup of honey and a 1/2 cup of light brown sugar.
  • 4. Take ham out of the oven and score the top and smother with glaze. Put back in the oven for at least 10 minutes and add more glaze if desired. Or, what I did was spoon the ginger ale juices back over the glazed ham. Let cook for another 10 minutes and should be ready to serve.
  • 5. As it shows in the picture, I made a side of garlic sour cream mashed potatoes and peas simmered in the ginger ale juice from the ham.

This is another odd kielbasa recipe that surprises everyone. It's always a winner at parties. The best type of honey mustard for this recipe is a mustard with more honey texture than mustard. Very easy.

Kielbasa with Honey Mustard image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to broil. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Slice kielbasa diagonally into 1/4 inch pieces.
  • In a medium-size skillet saute kielbasa in ginger ale until they are heated through. Drain well. Arrange the kielbasa on the prepared baking sheet, then sprinkle them with brown sugar.
  • Broil the kielbasa until the brown sugar melts and begins to crystallize, check after 3 to 5 minutes. Serve the kielbasa with honey mustard for dipping.

  • On the side burner, melt the brown sugar, honey and butter in a small saute pan over medium-high heat. Remove from the heat and whisk in the mustard, soy sauce, olive oil and ginger. Let cool.
  • Preheat grill to medium heat. Brush salmon with vegetable oil and season with salt and pepper to taste. Place the salmon skin side down on the grill. Steps:

  • Whisk ginger ale, yellow mustard, and Dijon mustard in a medium saucepan to combine. Bring to a simmer over medium heat; reduce heat to low and gently simmer 3 minutes. Whisk in ginger, garlic, onion, honey, sugar, salt, vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes and cook, stirring occasionally, until flavors have come together and sauce is very fragrant, 15-20 minutes.
