This fudge is wonderful and never grainy. The ingredients are the same as the recipe on the back of the marshmellow cream jar, except this has more chocolate and u don't boil the butter. Mama Dee's Never Fail Creamy Fudge image

Steps:

  • 1. In a large heatproof bowl put chocolate chips, butter, marshmallow cream & vanilla. Set aside. Lightly butter a 9"x13" pan or holiday tins
  • 2. In a 4 quart pot, stir together sugar and evaporated milk. Over medium heat, bring to a rolling boil, carefully tip pan to melt sugar crystals on the side of the pan, scraping sides with a silicone spatula. The unmelted sugar crystals are what cause the fudge to turn grainy so be sure to get them all melted. When mixture starts to boil set times for exactly 8 minutes. Stir constantly while mixture cooks to prevent burning. Pour over the chocolate mixture in the bowl. Stir to incorporate and beat till smooth. Fold in nuts(if desired). Pour into pans or holiday tins for gift giving. Enjoy!

Mama's Marshmallow Cream Fudge image

Steps:

  • 1. In a medium saucepan, combine marshmallow cream, sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt.
  • 2. Over medium heat, bring to a boil stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • 3. Remove from heat. Add chocolate chips.
  • 4. Stir until chips melt and mixture is smooth.
  • 5. Stir in nuts and vanilla.
  • 6. Pour into aluminum foil lined 8 x 8 inch baking pan. Chill until firm (about 22 hours).
  • 7. ***You can substitute another type of nut if you like.

1 jar(s) marshmallow cream
1 1/2 c sugar
1/4 tsp salt
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla extract
2/3 c evaporated milk
1/4 c butter
1/2 c chopped walnuts

This recipe was popular in the 1950's and is reported to be one of Mamie Eisenhower's favorite recipes. It is rich and delicious. But most of all it is easy and "Never Fails". It can be made without the nuts.

Steps:

  • 1. Note: This picture is one of Mamie Eisenhower's official portraits. FUDGE: Line a 13 by 9 inch pan with foil and butter the foil with 1 tablespoon butter; set aside. In a large heat-proof bowl, combine the candy bars, chocolate chips and marshmallow creme; set aside.
  • 2. In a large heavy saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the milk, sugar and remaining butter. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 4-1/2 minutes. Pour over chocolate mixture; stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth and creamy. Stir in walnuts. Pour into prepared pan. Cover and refrigerate until firm.
  • 3. Using foil, lift fudge out of pan; cut into 1 inch squares. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Yield: about 6 pounds.

1/2 c plus 1 tablespoon butter, divided
3 milk chocolate candy bars (two 7 ounces, one 1.55 ounces), broken into pieces
4 c (24 ounces total) semisweet chocoalte chips
1 jar(s) (7 ounces) marshmallow creme

2 c chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Butter one 13x9-inch pan or 2 9x9-inch pans.
  • Combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter, marshmallow creme and salt in a 6-quart saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat.
  • Boil slowly for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, walnuts and chocolate chips.
  • Pour into buttered pan.
  • Makes about 5 pounds.
